Hardware and Software Requirements

Software »

VTMIT courses require specific software that enables participation in lectures, discussions and assignments. The software listed here is used generally across all courses and constitutes the minimum requirement. However, each course may require you to download or purchase additional packages specific to the course material, and students should be prepared to install and use these additional programs as requested by the program faculty.

The VTMIT program requires that students have a access to a quality computer system and that they also have access to a "backup" system should technical problems arise. Both systems must meet minimum program requirements.

OPERATING SYSTEM	Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, NT 4.0 Workstation with SP 4+ (CentraOne will NOT run on Macintosh.)
PROCESSOR	at least 500 MHz (700 MHz recommended)
SYSTEM RAM	at least 128 MB RAM
SCREEN RESOLUTION	800 x 600 16bit color display (1024 x 768 resolution recommended)
SOUND HARDWARE	Speakers/microphone or headset with microphone
INTERNET CONNECTION	56.6 kbps modem or higher
