IDDL provides leadership, coordination, management, and support to the distance and distributed activities at Virginia Tech. It assists with course development, hosts course content, administers CentraOne, provides faculty training, and fields faculty and student support questions. |

Established in 1872 with 500 volumes, University Libraries now includes holdings of more than 2,000,000 volumes physically located in Newman Library, the four branches, and a high-density storage building. The university community also has access to a large and continuously expanding collection of electronic databases and full content journals provided by the library. The library is a selective depository for federal documents and is an invited member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL).
The library hosts a dedicated library site for distance learners and employs a full-time distance learning librarian to assist with the research needs of online students. Numerous online materials are available to students anywhere in the world, such as searchable databases, eJournals, electronic theses/dissertations, and more. In addition, the library's ILLiad system permits the library to mail print materials to any student living outside of Montgomery County Virginia. |

Students in the program can meet - either by phone, email, chat, or in-person - with a full-time VTMIT academic advisor to discuss the best methods for navigating the program. The program advisor can answer questions about the curriculum, module requirements/prerequisites, faculty, career and professional goals, or other program-related issues. |

Through Virginia Tech's online administrative gateway, the Hokie SPA, students have 24/7 access to their student records - payment history, course history, grades, and more. The Hokie SPA also allows students to register online, pay tuition with a credit card, update contact information, and more. |
